One of my favorite activities in this packing-up process (because let’s be honest, selling your shit is kind of exhausting, especially when you have a lot of it) has been doing research on pet-friendly travel, and how my bestie, Holly Elizabeth Sareen, can come with me in a way that’s comfortable and safe for her.
Bring Fido is an awesome gathering of a bunch of different doggie resources all in one place. I had used it before to look up pet-friendly hotels at different destinations, but it wasn’t until I started thinking about traveling full-time that I realized how incredibly useful it is. They of course have the aforementioned resources on pet-friendly accommodations, including campgrounds, but they also have a slew of these other awesome resources:
Airline Pet Policies – Goes over the dos and don’ts and things you need to know for taking your dog on one of the major airlines.
U.S. Pet Air Travel Regulations – Laws for traveling with your pup in the air in the States.
International Pet Travel Information – This is one of my favorite resources! Comprehensive listing of what you need to bring your dog into multiple countries.
Dog-Friendly Attractions – Beaches and parks and lakes, oh my!
Outdoor Restaurants – This was definitely one of my favorites, too. I hadn’t considered eating out with her on the road! We will probably be doing this very infrequently, because of the cost, but it’s cool to know I can find a place that will list businesses where she’s allowed!
Pet Businesses – Vets and dog-sitters and other doggy services you might need on the road.
And a ton more!
Check out if you are thinking about traveling with your puppy. 🙂
