As I go through the process of selling my stuff, I wanted to start sharing with you guys some of the resources I’m using to position me best for my journey.

The biggest one I’ve used so far is OfferUp. OfferUp is a website (with companion mobile apps) for selling your old stuff for cold, hard cash.

The system is easy peasy: set up a profile, which should take less than a minute, snap a pic, post your item and wait for the buyers to roll in. And so far, for me, the buyers have rolled in! Compare this to Craigslist, which is the old way of selling things: with Craigslist, you snap a pic, have to get it uploaded, fill out a long form of unnecessary details, where you are located, blah blah. With OfferUp, the process is made amazingly simple and streamlined: the app grabs your location from your phone and all you have to do is take a photo.

So far, I’ve sold my bed, a couch, my dining table and chairs, a Ninja blender and a vegetable steamer and I plan to put many more things up for sale. The cash I’m getting is going to be an awesome resource when I am preparing for this journey and I love that OfferUp has made the process of selling my old stuff so easy.

You don’t have to be going on a world trip to sell your stuff on OfferUp, though, it is a great site and app for anyone looking to just get rid of some junk around their house and make some extra cash!

Check it out on the web, here:

P.S. I’ve also added a Resources page to the site to keep track of all the neat little tips and tricks I find out!

P.P.S. Below is a video of me talking a bit more about how much I’ve loved OfferUp!
